Privacy policy

Privacy at Nerkh, separated by macOS, iOS and Android: what stays on your device, what reaches our servers, and how to contact us.

Last updated:

Privacy by platform

The core policy is shared, but local storage and service interaction are separated for each client.

macOS

The macOS client requests public market data from Nerkh services. App preferences and short-lived presentation/cache state can remain locally on your Mac.

  • Rate requests expose ordinary HTTPS request metadata to Nerkh and its network providers.
  • Local preferences are controlled through the app and macOS rather than used as an advertising profile.
  • The current client does not embed advertising or audience-analytics SDKs.

iOS

The iOS client fetches public rates from Nerkh services. Language, appearance, My List and other feature state can be stored locally on the device.

  • Server requests include the technical metadata needed to deliver and protect the service.
  • App-local preferences and lists remain on the device until changed, cleared or the app is removed.
  • The current client does not embed advertising or audience-analytics SDKs.

Android

The Android client uses the same public Nerkh market-data services.

Who is responsible?

The service operator and privacy contact are identified below and in the legal notice. This policy covers the public information service provided by the Nerkh website and apps. External sites have their own policies.

Browsing and security

Requests disclose your IP address, requested URL, time and client information to our servers and network providers. Security controls may record request metadata and abuse signals to prevent misuse and investigate incidents. Public prices and charts are fetched from Nerkh services.

Storage on your device

The website remembers an explicitly selected appearance using nerkh-theme. The app remembers language, appearance and My List on your device; widgets may keep a local market snapshot. These preferences and lists are stored locally. Our cookie notice records its acknowledgement locally for 180 days. See the storage page for details. We do not embed advertising or audience analytics SDKs in this version.

Purposes and legal grounds

Where the GDPR applies, delivering public information reliably, securing the service and handling ordinary enquiries rely on legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f). Statutory obligations rely on Article 6(1)(c). If optional processing requiring consent is introduced, a separate choice under Article 6(1)(a) must be offered before it begins. Essential device storage is limited to features you request under §25(2) TDDDG where applicable.

Recipients and international processing

Authorised administrators and contracted hosting and network providers may process the technical data needed to deliver and protect the service. Where Cloudflare protection is enabled, requests pass through its network. If you email us, your message and contact information are handled by the email providers involved so we can reply. Providers may process data outside your country or the EEA. Where required, transfers need an adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards such as EU standard contractual clauses. Contact the operator for the providers and safeguards applicable to the service.

Retention and deletion

Local preferences, My List and widget snapshots remain on your device until replaced or removed. Clear the relevant browser/app storage to remove them; the cookie notice acknowledgement expires after 180 days. Adaptive-abuse decisions default to 30 days when the scheduled cleanup runs. Other security and infrastructure logs are retained according to the needs of incident investigation and applicable legal obligations. Email enquiries are kept as needed to handle the request and any applicable obligations. Backups may retain earlier copies until rotation. Contact the operator for deployment-specific log, correspondence and backup retention periods.

Your rights and contact

Where applicable, you can request access, correction, erasure, restriction and portability, object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw consent for future processing. You may complain to the data protection supervisory authority in your place of residence, work or the alleged infringement. Contact the operator using the details below; we may need to verify that a request concerns your data. We do not use personal data to make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
